A little more about Miss Dimitruk...
Hi! I'm so glad you're here, and I can't wait to get to know you better this year. My name is Miss Dimitruk, and I could not be happier to be your teacher. I was born and raised in Irvine and attended Meadow Park Elementary, Lakeside Middle School and Woodbridge High School. I graduated with my Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from Westmont College in Montecito, California. The following year, I went to UC Santa Barbara to complete my teaching credential and Master's in Education. Most recently, I have finished the course work for my Education Specialist credential and two-year administrative internship through IUSD. This year, I have the opportunity to serve as a District ELA mentor teacher.
This is my tenth year of teaching, my sixth year in IUSD, and I can't imagine spending my days doing anything else. I spent one year teaching in a private school, and three years teaching in dual immersion schools where I taught half of the day in English and half of the day in Spanish. I absolutely love teaching and I love sixth grade! It is a fun, exciting, and challenging year! I love the energy and humor that each child brings to the classroom each day!
When I'm not working, I love to travel and learn about new people, places, and cultures. I also love being outside, especially at the beach. I enjoy running and taking classes at a local Bar Method studio. Giraffes are my favorite animal, 3 is my favorite number and peonies and gerber daisies are my favorite flowers! I love black coffee and dark chocolate, too. Most of all, I love spending time with my friends and family, specifically my six nieces and nephews!
Each year is special and unique for various reasons, and I can't wait to get started this year. It's such an amazing privilege to get to do what I do each day, and I am looking forward to another awesome year!
Sincerely,
Miss Dimitruk
